I’m the same as you and I started with 50 pounds. You don’t want to start
to high or you will have bad form and possibly hurt yourself.

Nice =) congrats! You’re 16 and pulling 70lbs? -_- Damn I need to work out,
I’m 25 and 50lbs is enough for me lol.

Then I will throw this poor guy into a time machine and set him off into
medieval time. He would be a fine asset in any army.

In a simple sense, the attachments help mitigate the inherent
inconsistencies of the archer by dampening vibrations, balancing the bow
and providing a steady reference point for aiming. Unlike a compound bow,
however, using a recurve is still very much a physical process with no
    mechanical assistance.

A long stab gets in the way, making it hard to move around or shoot from a
hide. For the same reason, target compounds and recurves are larger than
their compact hunting counterparts. Hunting bows are also to be balanced
    with a short stab.

So I have an older Browning compound bow(98 or 99). Draw length set at 31″
and the poundage is 70. I don’t know if its my form or what, but I have a
hell of a time drawing it. I can get it back but I allllmost stall out
midway. It doesn’t make since to me. I lift weights and can bent-over row
90lb dumbells with relative ease and proper form for 8-10 reps. Why am I
having trouble with a mere 70lb?
