Thanks for bringing the topic up, I’m glad I know about this because I’ve
just entered for my first archery tournament ( junior national tournament
in April ), I don’t want to go through the tournament and realise that what
I’ve been doing was not complying with the rules.
I will probably be competing btw I’m 13 turning 14 this year, my coach
Irene Norman has said that I should get a bit more accurate at higher
distances.
The more you watch competitions, the more you see some of the strange
shooting behaviors people have. I think a lot of people start out with
little coaching and teach themselves following whatever works for them.
Easy to form bad habits that they have now worked into their “technique”. I
can see more experienced archers having a lot of problems trying to fix
this. I especially like your comparison of the correct vs incorrect because
reading about it does not always make it clear in your mind and sometime
the differences between good/bad can be subtle. Good Job!
good info. I have seen compound shooters draw as if theyre gonna shoot the
moon out! I try to keep mine at or near the target. After watching this
video I will be more conscience of it! thanks!

No wonder Rod always corrected me when I drew too high. Now I get it :)
Are you going to the Victorian state short range comp.
What state do you live in
Thank you

I wonder if this means most Korean archers will be disqualified with their
high draw.

Seems like a rule for the sake of making a rule. Totally meaningless and
useless. It makes zero difference how you draw the bow.
Can you still do these draws for hunting
thx ur really helpful
