I have a nice recurve bow but I’m sorta afraid to shoot it, as wooden
boards tend to break my arrows… What would you suggest for a good target?
What did you use in this video?

Skallagrim would you consider this bow as an extremely good bow? Because
then I want one as well :3 It seems historically accurate and is nice
looking… Just what I am looking for. If it can shoot as far and accurate as
a historical hungarian horse bow of that kind.

Hey, Skall, I’ve been watching your channel for a while.
You’ve made vids about European medieval weapons, rifles, knives, self
defense… And now you’re into archery?
Could you elaborate on what is the extent of your martial hobbies? On a
similar note, how’s your plate armor project doing?

Your technique is quite good. I especially like the crispness of your
follow through and that you keep your hand behind the plane of your bow. I
did notice two related things that would effect your consistency. First,
that you raise your shoulders when you draw, indicating you’re using your
deltoids and upper back muscles to brace the bow. Related to that, you
might be using the same muscles to draw. Instead, practice lifting your
arms without raising your shoulders, focusing on engaging your lower back
muscles. This will leave bracing the bow to your bones instead of muscles
(which will shake and fatigue), making your shot more consistent.

If you want to loose arrows faster why not practice holding multiple arrows
in your loosing hand while you pluck, just to get a feel for it.

Why do you release so quickly? the draw weight is only 45 lbs, you could
easily hold that for a few more seconds for a steadier shot, which you need
    on a traditional bow.
