You are talking about traditional archery and this is freestyle or
“olympic” archery. They are using sights and not “point of aim” as you
would when shooting longbow, for instance, so there needs to be a
repeatable reference point where the hand is held under the chin (She needs
to work on this) but She is a beginner, and did well for a first timer.
Good to have the opportunity to be taught by a national team member too!
momentum has little to do with it but repeatability has more. This is why
recurve archers hold their string hands under the chin with the string
against and in the centre of the chin. You’re refering to the traditional
form of archery such as longbow where the string is drawn to the cheek with
the index finger touching the corner of the mouth at full draw. Modern bows
don’t need to be drawn as far for the same arrow speed as they are much
more efficient than a traditional longbow!
4 dislikes?
Fail! I’m right-handed but a left-shooter 😛
no it wasnt
Even though it could have been better, it was still good to see how excited
a real beginner gets when they hit the target, congrats
you supposed to fire it near your cheek….. more momentum of the arrow….
the more the chance of hitting bullseye.
my ears hate this.
She have to move the bow upper
that happens 😛
I love to watch beginning archers hit for the first time.

Coaches get a buzz when they see beginners enjoying hitting the target too!
Its why we do it!

What a tough guy. “A little bit sore”. I fucking sliced my flesh of the
bone using the bloody string!
