Wow, were you sitting in that location or did you actually sneak up on
them? I feel like it would be almost impossible to sneak up on a deer.

I am using a Panasonic 700HD. I found a nice spot and sat down. These deer
came through three hours later. This is now my favorite spot.

question… what happens to the arrows when you get the deer? do they
break? do they go entirely through it and keep flying after shooting the
deer? if that happens what do you do to recover the arrow? I would like to
learn how to hunt but I dont really have much money so I dont know how
rentable it really is to bow hunt… but i woul love to learn haha thanks

95% of the time the arrow passes through and I recover it. Occasionally I
take to shot quartering towards me and hit the front shoulder. Even then I
recover the arrow but the broad head suffers once in a while. The current
arrow I am using is the same arrow I used to kill 9 deer with this hunting
season with no damage. Buy a used bow and arrow setup off ebay for now but
before you do this, go to a hunting store and have them measure you so you
buy the right bow! Good luck!!

I am not a crossbow fan. I don’t feel challenged with guns and crossbows!
The excitement and adrenaline of drawing the bow back while on the ground
with your prey only feet away is unparalleled.

Of course! Sometimes when I try for the 10 ft shot from the ground, I have
to draw the bow back while the deer is further away and wait for it to walk
within feet of me before releasing the arrow. The only way to hold the bow
back for 2-5 minutes is to drop the poundage or get a bow with 99% let-off.

You have to build up your draw strength. 3 times a week you should draw
your bow back for 20 reps at normal speed then 20 real slow reps. Make sure
you stop at half draw occasionally and hold there for as long as you can
before going to full draw. Many of my hunts, I have been caught at half
draw and had to hold there for a while. Additionally, there can be
absolutely no noise when drawing back at close range. Good luck! The rest
is just a lot of practice in the woods.

Thanks a bunch. I noticed you draw very slowly in some of the videos. I
have already started pulling back my bow every night once or twice and
holding it, just to start out. I have a whisker biscuit – makes me a bit
nervous that the deer would hear it. Should I get another type of rest?

Yo Ninja, was wondering if you use any kind of feed or scents to keep the
deer within your shooting lanes? Do you use any game cameras for scouting
previous to the season or is there just that much deer where you are
    hunting?

    Thanks . Looking for your 3013 hunts ! I’m a Ghilli man , so I’m as close
as 7-10 yds . I’ve been looking at light weight cameras that hang on your
ear ( Looxcie ). I hope to start posting my ground hunts one day …..

This is one sweet kill. Absolutely love how you held for the quartering
away release. Dropped a doe at 22 yards on near identical setup. Nice
    film work!
