@DolorousSam, thanks for clearing it up for me, I thought it was very
strange. Especially when done in slow motion. But I don’t understand the
    sentence before the last.

@DDave43 If you listened a bit longer you would have heard that each action
serves a specific purpose… ergo… not unnecessary movement.

A very pleasant video about a great practice. There are three things that
are very important within Kyudo: Truth, Goodness and Beauty. Three things
that many of the comments on this thread do not contain. Kudos to you who
do understand what Kyudo is all about!

no, no! you misunderstand! the whole point of archery is not to hit the
target, but to discover one’s own self in the release! it’s much like
    wanking.

in kyudo they don’t care if missed the target But they care about correct
    movement . So .. i don’t disagree ,= w =

Kyudo is about not looking like an idiot during combat and then having
somebody tear off your head because you’re a shitty archer. You’re supposed
to do it for the same reason that soldiers go to their weapon ranges. You
might miss, but your training time is precisely the time to make a few
mistakes. It’s better to do it where people will laugh at you than where
people will beat you to death on their saddle Ranking up is a fake, western
idea. It’s pays the bills though

Ive watched a few of these videos and the results are mostly missing. All
of this grace, shattered by failure to hit a target. It would be all the
more impressive if the archer could split arrows down range.

give me mongolian or hungarian composite bow over japanese one any day.
This form of archery has gone too far from it’s original purpose.

Peculiar form of archery. After watching a video or 2 it seems to be more
about the form than the result.

I’m sure this has a purpose, but it looks way to slow to be useful outside
of competition shooting. I don’t see a reason to do all this when there are
archers who are capable of hitting multiple targets while running
backwards, or firing 11 arrows in the air before the first hit the ground.
in the time it took for him to take half his shirt off others can fire off
    dozens of shots.

yeah, so if you want to do some spiritual practice on archery, and find
one’s self through this practice…please…please practice your aim first.
